Troubleshooting
No sound on playback
If you have video but no audio, try these fixes:
Fix 1: Check TV volume and mute
- •Make sure your TV is not muted
- •Check if the audio is routed to a soundbar/external speaker that is off
Fix 2: Change audio output in STBAir settings
- •Some content uses audio codecs your TV does not support by default
- •If available, try switching between 'Auto', 'PCM', or 'Passthrough' in audio settings
Fix 3: Try different content
- •If only one item has no sound, it is a provider-side encoding issue
- •Other content working fine confirms the app is not the problem
Fix 4: Restart the app
- •Close STBAir completely and reopen
- •Sometimes the audio decoder gets stuck after switching quickly
Fix 5: Check your provider
- •Some providers encode audio in formats like AAC 5.1 or AC3 that older TVs cannot decode
- •Ask your provider if they have an alternative audio option
